Assessment Film - Rebecca Stonehouse and Katie Bee
We overall enjoyed making this video but looking at our footage we have discovered some major problems. One of these being some of the film didn't make sense because due to the facilities we were unable to shoot some of the scenes in the original film. We feel this makes the film jump and if viewers have not seen the original film this could be extremely confusing and look silly. Although we feel the scenes we have completed have a steady, focused shot. We feel the way we used a canted angle was quite clever as it added to the daunting atmosphere we were trying to create. The lighting was appropriate and allowed the camera to capture all the action without us worrying it would be to dark. Also we feel the make up we did was very good because the ghost was very scary and was very similar to the original.

Stalking
This week we had to create a stalking film. We had the chance too create our own 6 shots. We did shots at different angles and positions. Whilst making the film it was hard to capture the true essence of being a stalker without breaking the 180 degree rule. Also whilst filming we thought that our composition was in order and made sense, but now looking back on what we have created there are a few frames that don't make sense. We now know how to avoid doing this in the future, and that continuity is a very important factor for the film to make sense. We are happy with what we have created, and have learnt from our mistakes. The film that we have created does show the idea of being stalked but it could seem a little fake as the shots are not precise. Our shots we feel are quite well framed as we used a tripod to keep the composition steady and we focused the camera and used the white balance. Our film didn't have to many massive jumps, as we feel or continuity was at a high level. We want to shoot it again from the right angles to get the correct coverage.

Our Continuity Exercise
This week we were asked to shoot a continuity and coverage film. We were given a set amount of shots and angles to film at, we used our friends in our video (Kaine and Hannah). We produced a film but afterwards then realized that we missed out a shot and also filmed some of them at the wrong angles! Some of the angles were difficult to shoot as it felt unrealistic and that we were seeing the same thing twice. We are hopefully going to re shoot and will post the successful one up!
